چکیده

We give a short proof that the largest component of the random graph G(n, 1/n) is of size approximately n. The proof gives explicit bounds for the probability that the ratio is very large or very small.

Scaling limits for critical inhomogeneous random graphs with finite third moments∗

We identify the scaling limit for the sizes of the largest components at criticality for inhomogeneous random graphs with weights that have finite third moments. We show that the sizes of the (rescaled) components converge to the excursion lengths of an inhomogeneous Brownian motion, which extends results of Aldous [1] for the critical behavior of Erdős-Rényi random graphs. We rely heavily on m...

Divide and conquer martingales and the number of triangles in a random graph

The goal of this paper is to present a novel application of a recent and useful martingale inequality. As an illustration, we prove an essentially sharp bound for the probability that a random graph contains significantly more triangles than expected.

Martingales on Trees and the Empire Chromatic Number of Random Trees

We study the empire colouring problem (as defined by Percy Heawood in 1890) for maps whose dual planar graph is a tree, with empires formed by exactly r countries. We prove that, for each fixed r > 1, with probability approaching one as the size of the graph grows to infinity, the minimum number of colours for which a feasible solution exists takes one of seven possible values.

Diffusion constants and martingales for senile random walks

We derive diffusion constants and martingales for senile random walks with the help of a time-change. We provide direct computations of the diffusion constants for the time-changed walks. Alternatively, the values of these constants can be derived from martingales associated with the timechanged walks. Using an inverse time-change, the diffusion constants for senile random walks are then obtain...

Convergence Theorems for Set Valued and Fuzzy Valued Martingales and Smartingales

The purpose of this paper is to give convergence theorems both for closed convex set valued and relative fuzzy valued martingales, and suband supermartingales. These kinds of martingales, suband super-martingales are the extension of classical real valued martingales, suband super-martingales. Here we compare two kinds of convergences, in the Hausdor metric and in the Kuratowski-Mosco sense. We...
